Security Automation & Orchestration

Network or Network Security Orchestration is based on the automation of systems deploying elements of control theory.

Orchestration is a service-oriented architecture, providing virtualisation, automation and provisioning on a converged infrastructure and optimise dynamic Datacentre operations. Its purpose is to align the business requirements with the applications, data, and infrastructure securely. It defines the policies and service levels through automated workflows (via RESTful APIs), provisioning, change management and remediation (blocking ports, suspending accounts, redirecting traffic etc). A Security Automation & Orchestration platform should have clear visibility of E-W (lateral, internal) as well as N-S (data entering and leaving the network) traffic, and the ability to provide Command and Control (C&C) and GeoIP feeds, malware identification and remediation, and infected host tracking.

The Junos Space Network Management Platform works with Juniper management applications to simplify and automate management of Juniper’s switching, routing, and security devices. As part of a complete solution, the platform provides broad fault, configuration, accounting, performance, and security management (FCAPS) capability, same day support for new devices and Junos OS releases, a task-specific user interface, and northbound APIs for integration with existing network management systems (NMS) or operations/business support systems (OSS/BSS).
The NFX Series Network Services Platform family is a universal CPE platform that provides secure SD-WAN and service delivery. NFXs enable the creation of innovative services and automate services activation, with zero truck rolls. They support third-party VNFs, and host the vSRX Virtual Firewall to provision secure, ultra-fast custom service delivery on demand, including SD-WAN. There are multiple connection options (including 4G/LTE and ADSL2/VDSL2), and an open, standards-based architecture.

  • ‘We are really happy with the Juniper Mist solution provided by IP Performance and in fact when you look at the number of daily connections I would say it’s exceeded our expectations, for example in our Coatbridge campus the feedback from all staff and students for a number of years has been really negative regarding the Wifi but right now we currently have 600 users connected. The ability to look at the monitor and see what the trends are in terms of time-to-connect and successful connections also gives us the ability to see a problem before it impacts on a number of users. Therefore this reduces the amount of Wifi issues that are submitted to our helpdesk, so this again shows that the solution works.’
