IP Performance CISO Phil Cracknell interviewed on current HSE hackTuesday 18th May 2021
IP Performance were contacted on Friday 14th May by the Irish Examiner for insight into the unfortunate situation at Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE).
As established incident responders, and with a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience on the subject, IPP were able to give some context as to what the HSE might be going through right now.
There is a significant ransomware attack on the HSE IT systems. We have taken the precaution of shutting down all our our IT systems in order to protect them from this attack and to allow us fully assess the situation with our own security partners.— HSE Ireland (@HSELive) May 14, 2021
Our CISO Phil Cracknell added after the interview that IPP’s Cyber Breach Workshop, which is now running virtually each month, has already seen an increase in interest from our customers. Organisations don’t want to find themselves in the situation that HSE Ireland are in right now and should an organisation suffer a cyber breach, they know where they can find expert help to assist. Our interview touched upon some of the how’s and why’s of the breach. Read the full article here:
