The Royal Surrey were looking to introduce SSO to the Trust in order to provide our staff with ability to access the systems they require in a speedy and secure manner without the need to remember multiple user names and passwords. After a vigorous due diligence exercise we settled on IP Performance and Evidian. The major reasons for this were: the company understood our business need, infrastructure and desire to eventually move beyond SSO to Identity Management; the technical skills proposed were of a very high standard; and the price was extremely competitive. The Trust is currently piloting and will be pushing the solution out. In terms of the pilot the staff have found the solution extremely easy to get used to, almost to the point now where they take it for granted.

‘Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) is continually looking to ensure it implements best practice when it comes to managing its ICT Systems and Infrastructure. A key part of this requirement is the maintenance of appropriate security controls to ensure risks are monitored and minimised whilst service provision is optimised. GMFRS identified that monitoring the various systems for unauthorised events is a key part of its security infrastructure and following the evaluation of a number of potential solutions it chose to implement a LogRhythm solution through IP Performance. The solution is monitoring the entire ICT infrastructure and is proving to be a very valuable tool in identifying easily suspicious and “out of the ordinary” events which can then be investigated quickly and effectively. The system is helping GMFRS meet its obligations to maintain security and minimise its risks as it strives to meet and exceed all the requirements of CESG best practise’.
Damian Parkinson, Director of ICT, Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service
