Pinewood Studios roll out HMX KVMoIP Solution to Post Production
IP Performance are pleased to announce that we have just supplied the Pinewood Studios Group with an Avocent HMX switched KVMoIP solution for their Post Production facilities at their studio complex in Iver Heath.
Pinewood Studios have equipped the Post Production Editing Suites and Transfer Bay with Avocent HMX 1070 user stations and IQ transmitters, allowing any, or multiple editors to access, and share, any data source, whether it be a ProTools system running on an Apple Mac, a Linux-based compositing or rendering application, or audioviual editing software hosted on a Microsoft Windows platform. Leveraging the native IP Multicasting functionality of the system using the HMX Manager, a server-based appliance controlling sessions and connection brokerage, editors will be able to access and share resources without having to leave their editing suites or workstations, streamlining the workflow process and speeding up the delivery of final content.
Pinewood Studios is the home of world class film, television and commercial production and post production facilities. The Studios provide facilities for major national and international film production, filmed television, studio television recording, the filming of commercials and post production sound services.
The Post Production department hosts probably the largest integrated Post Production Sound facility in the world, enabling its talented pool of Mixers and dedicated technical support to offer the full range of audio experiences. The Post Production facilities encompass 10 re-recording and mixing theatres, 2 ADR and Foley suites, and cater for film, television audio post as well as foreign version dubbing, optical transfer and duplication. The department has assembled an award-winning team of experts who collectively and individually deliver internationally-acclaimed audio post-production for film, television and commercials.
It is the Studios' intention to roll this HMX solution out to its other audio Post Production facilities at Shepperton and Teddington Studios.
