IP EXPO 2011, 19th-20th October, Earls Court 2
IP EXPO, 19th - 20th October 2011, Earls Court 2, London: IP Performance were manning their now-customary stand (A30) at the UK's foremost technology show. IP Performance thoroughly enjoyed exhibiting at Earls Court 2 again, supported by our sponsor vendors BlueCat Networks and Emerson Network Power | Avocent.
In this, IP Performance's fifth year at this pre-eminent IP networking and convergence event, Pierre Ketteridge was assisted by a new events team consisting of Steve Boddy and Russell Barrett, our two new Sales Account Managers, on Stand A30 by the Network Optimisation Theatre. We were joined by Paul Brown of Bluecat Networks, and Lee Riccio of Emerson Network Power | Avocent, our two co-sponsoring vendor partners.
As well as the Exhibition itself, there were Keynote Theatre addresses (including a presentation from Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Inc.) and continual Seminars on a broad number of tracks, including Cloud Applications & Services, Cloud Infrastructure, Communications & Mobility, Data Centre Optimisation, Desktop Virtualization, Information & Storage Management, Network Optimisation, Security & Governance, Server Virtualization and Wireless & Campus Networks.
IP Performance saw a lot of interest in DDI (DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management), and in particular, management and administration of IPv6 schemas and scopes, ably demonstrated by Paul, as well as more generic IP Network Infrastructure management, as described and expounded by Lee from Avocent. Security, filtering and anti-malware, especially when delivered as a subscription service over the Cloud, were also popular topics of discussion (especially since IP Performance have recently been accredited as Blue Coat System's first UK BTPSP - BlueTouch Professional Services Provider - and MSSP - Managed Security Solutions Provider), as were monitoring and management of Cloud-based and virtualised infrastructures (through Xangati).
This year's show saw a record number of visitors, up 30% on last year, and an increase of 20% in exhibitors (mainly due to the demise of the 360⁰IT Show, which we also attended), making It the busiest IP EXPO Show yet.
IP Performance have already booked our now semi-permanent Stand A30 for next year's IP EXPO, and look forward to seeing you there, on 17-18th October 2012!
