Green IT Business Transformation Seminars a resounding success
IP Performance's recent Green IT Business Transformation seminars on 'Green IT - Media Fad or Achievable Business Goal?', hosted in conjunction with Freedom Communications and supported by our Business Partners Alcatel-Lucent, Avocent Corporation, Zeus Technologies, were a great success and well-received by delegates and business partners alike.
Held on the 10th June at Arsenal FC's Emirates Stadium in London, and on the 12th June at Manchester United FC's Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester, the two half-day seminars explored the ramifications of Green IT issues in the business world - issues that we are increasingly being asked about by our customers.
Technology solutions such as collaboration, videoconferencing and data centre outsourcing are all at the forefront of adopting a 'Green' approach to communications, and were all covered in the individual presentations.
Topics included the work of the Carbon Trust, Unified Communications, energy-efficient Data Centre best practice design guidelines and considerations, a live demonstaration of LifeSize's High Definition (HD) collaborative audiovisual conferencing system, as well as product demonstration stands in the break-out coffee and lunch sessions.
The seminars concluded with presentations from Sir Christopher Clark OBE and Paul Buchanan of Governetz, who consult both the public and private sector on government affairs, on the UK Public Sector and technology's transformation of the Green agenda.
We hope to announce further seminars on this, and other areas of IT interest in the near future.
